The Mission
The FEED Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds to ensure nutritious school meals for all children as a first step to improving the global food system. In partnership with FEED Projects, LLC, the FEED Foundation has provided over 50 million school meals to children in the developing world through the United Nations World Food Progam school feeding operations.
Our Story
The FEED Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in July 2008 by Ellen Gustafson and Lauren Bush. We started the Foundation because of our shared commitment to raise valuable funds and support for the United Nations World Food Program's school feeding efforts. We have extended our focus to look holistically at the global food system and find ways to make it better for all people. We are also looking at how we can affect change in related areas, like agriculture, education, and health.
The FEED Foundation is represented by an apple tree. The fruit of the apple tree symbolizes health and the branches of the tree symbolize The FEED Foundations commitment to help ensure that all people everywhere have access to healthy nutritious food.
