Cheech Marin

American comedian, actor and writer who gained recognition as part of the comedy act Cheech & Chong during the 1970s and early 1980s, and as Don Johnson's partner, Insp. Joe Dominguez on Nash Bridges.

He has also voiced characters in several Disney movies, including Oliver and Company, The Lion King, Cars, its sequel and Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

Marin's trademark is his character's thickly Mexican-accented voice. This a part of a comic persona, rather than a natural accent.

Marin was married in 1975 to Darlene Morley, who co-produced Cheech & Chong's The Corsican Brothers and also played minor roles in earlier Cheech & Chong films under the name Rikki Marin. The couple had one child and divorced in 1984. Marin married Patti Heid in 1986; they had two children and have since divorced. Marin married his longtime girlfriend, Russian pianist Natasha Rubin on August 8, 2009, in a sunset ceremony at their home.

Marin resides in California.

About The Arthritis Society

'The mission of The Arthritis Society is to search for the underlying causes and subsequent cures for arthritis, and to promote the best possible care and treatment for people with arthritis.'

The Arthritis Society is Canada's only not-for-profit organization devoted solely to funding and promoting arthritis research, programs and patient care. It has a national administrative office in Toronto, division offices in each province and nearly 1,000 community branches throughout Canada.

Supporting and providing research, patient care and public education programs that benefit the millions of Canadians with arthritis is no small task. But The Arthritis Society receives widespread support from tens of thousands of volunteers and donors across the country to help us achieve those goals. As a result, we're able offer help and hope to people with arthritis across the country.

A 18-member national board is responsible for managing and controlling the activities of the Society. The voluntary board includes representatives from each division, as well as other members recruited from across Canada. National staff provide administrative support for the board and facilitate cross-country initiatives such as research, direct mail and corporate partnerships.

Each division operates within this structure, navigating with local operating procedures established by their respective board of directors. Divisions are responsible primarily for fundraising, promoting and/or providing patient or client care, delivering education programs and providing advocacy at the local level.
